On January 14, 2023, a ceremony was held at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli to launch the Chery Automobile car agency through its exclusive agent, Al-Imtiaz Group, one of the companies of the Wahiba Group. The event was attended by the Minister of Economy and Industry, the Chairman of the Exhibition Authority, and the general managers of commercial banks, financial institutions, and chambers of commerce in both Tripoli and Misrata. Also present were a number of businessmen and businesswomen, public and private company directors, and those interested in the field.

The CEO of Al-Imtiaz Group announced that four branches of the company will be opened in the cities of Tripoli, Misrata, Benghazi, and Zliten. The company will offer a five-year or 150,000 km warranty on all models and intends to distribute all Chery SUVs and sedans that feature modern specifications that are compatible with the nature of Libyan roads and climate.
